FAQ's: Frequently Asked Questions
FOR CEMETERY LOT & PLOT OWNERS
Q: How do I contact a Volunteer with a cemetery or headstone question?
A: By calling 2 Dirty Old Men LLC office: 920-484-3432; or email: Our volunteer’s all work directly through our office and are trained for specific projects.
Q: How much does it cost to have a headstone straightened?
A: We have found the best way is for us to visit your families headstone and look at it. We do this free and can give you the best guess answer as well as some options you my wish to consider and talk over with other family members before you decide to have it fixed.
We use volunteers to do the labor and only charge for compensation and materials we bring to the project.
Q: Will I need to talk to the cemetery official before you can work in the cemetery.
A: Yes. But we can do this for you as we always contact the cemetery official before we inspect and or work in the cemetery to ensure we have the right location of your family Plot or Lot. Some cemeteries require a work permit before any work is started and have rules to follow before any work is permitted in the cemetery. We always ask to inspect the work before we finish.
Q: Why is a headstone foundation needed.
A: Cemetery headstone foundation setting typically falls under two categories, Shallow and Deep.Shallow Foundations are typically 3ft to 12ft deep depending on the load on foundation. In cold climates, shallow foundations must be protected from freezing. Water in the soil around the foundation can freeze and expand, thereby heaving or damaging the foundation. Surrounding landscape should also be considered, like slopping, when calculating the depth of material.
Deep Foundations for monuments that are tall enough to require stabilization piers shall follow engineering standards.
